Welcome to Renegade Retro!
New site, finally rounded out, might as well clear all of the placeholder posts and start fresh on the blog/news, huh?
Not much to post here at the moment while I’m finishing building and working. You may notice a change in the sound of the station. That’s because after finishing the addition of all of the songs that reached Top 40, I then took the time to actually sort them into 4 groups:
All that finished their run from 1-10
All that finished their run from 11-20
All that finished their run from 21-30
All that finished their run from 31-40
Funny thing, more songs reached 1 – 10 than ones that only finished from 21-40 combined. So basically if an artist’s song managed to get into the Top 40, they had a better shot of reaching into the Top 10 than they did of not even reaching the Top 20 at all!
Anyway, the gist of it is, after sorting them all out, I reworked the playlist to be more selective about its choices and when it’s playing them, to feature more of the top hits, and delve into the bottom less often. That reduced the eclectic-ness of the rotation considerably, but still gives everything a good shot of being played.
I also spent time trying to find a way to play the station on my iPhone so I could listen in my car through CarPlay. If you have an iPhone, I can’t recommend this one enough:
SHOUT Radios
In that app, just search for Renegade Retro and boom, RR on the go. Don’t be surprised if the album covers shown on there don’t match what I have assigned to each song and show on the website. They apparently somehow put their own when they get the ID3 tags. Oh well.
So, that’s it for now. Not sure quite how often I’ll be updating here, but I’ll do my best.
